Option Tutorial - The effects of dividends to option price

The company pays dividends to the stock after the ex-dividend date. Under normal circumstances, the stock price will drop by the amount of the dividend on the ex-dividend date. For options with an expiration date after the ex-dividend date, the market will take into account the factor of dividends. The premium of call options will be lower, and the premium of put options will be higher.
